A Travellerspoint blog

November 9, 2010

Today we drove the California Coast road. We learnt a very important lesson. If it says to slow to 15 and that the road narrows, you really do need to slow to 15 and the road really is going to narrow. Don was concerned about scraping the paint off the side of the motor home on a number of occassions. We stopped and had a lovely lunch in a place called Mendocino. We felt Grandma's presence with us. Medocino was used as Cabot Cove, Maine in that old TV show 'Murder She Wrote', one of Grandma's favorites. Last year when we were in Alberta Beach sitting in the old Alberta Beach hotel we called up Grandma and told her where we were and what we were doing. Both Don and I wished we could have called her today to tell her where we were and what we were doing. She would have loved it. We found a great campsite right on the beach in Westport.
